Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert minutes to decimal hours?

Divide the minutes by 60. 45 minutes is 0.75 hours, 20 minutes is 0.33 hours. Payroll systems almost always want decimal, which is why both formats are shown.

How are night shifts handled?

If the end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator assumes the shift crossed midnight and adds 24 hours. A 22:00 to 06:00 shift is correctly counted as 8 hours.

Does it calculate overtime?

It totals hours; overtime rules are set by your contract or local law. Compare the weekly total against your standard hours to see the excess, then apply your own multiplier.

Is my timesheet data saved?

Nothing leaves your browser. The rows exist only in the page and disappear when you close the tab.
