Platforms cache scraped metadata aggressively. After changing your tags, force a re-scrape with the Facebook Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn Post Inspector — otherwise the old preview persists for days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which card type should I use?

summary_large_image for almost everything — it occupies far more space in the timeline and consistently earns more engagement. Plain summary suits short, image-light links.

What image size does X need?

For a large image card, at least 300 × 157 and ideally 1200 × 628, under 5 MB, in JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF. A summary card uses a 1:1 image of at least 144 × 144.

Do I need twitter: tags if I already have Open Graph?

Not usually. X reads og:title, og:description and og:image when the twitter: equivalents are missing. You do need twitter:card to choose the card type.

Why is my card not showing?

Common causes are a relative image URL, an image blocked by robots.txt, a page requiring login, or a cached old version. X caches card data for around a week.
