Which type should I use?

BlogPosting for blog content, NewsArticle for time-sensitive journalism, and Article for everything else. NewsArticle is required for Google News features but should not be used for marketing content.

Does article schema help with E-E-A-T?

It makes authorship explicit and machine-readable, which supports how search engines associate content with an author. It is not a substitute for genuine expertise — the markup describes, it does not establish.

What date format is required?

ISO 8601 with a time zone offset, such as 2026-03-16T09:30:00+00:00. datePublished should never change; dateModified should update only on a substantive edit, not on a typo fix.

What image sizes should I supply?

Google recommends the same image at 16:9, 4:3 and 1:1, at least 1200 pixels wide. Supplying all three lets it pick the best fit for each result layout.
