How do I convert psi to bar?
Divide by 14.5038. A 32 psi tyre is 2.21 bar. Many European gauges read in bar while manuals quote psi, which is the usual reason for looking this up.
What is standard atmospheric pressure?
101,325 pascals, which is 1013.25 hPa, 1.01325 bar, 14.696 psi or 760 mmHg. Weather reports use hectopascals or millibars, which are the same number.
Why is blood pressure measured in mmHg?
Because the original instrument was a mercury column, and the height of that column in millimetres was the reading. Modern devices are electronic but kept the unit for continuity with a century of clinical data.
What is the difference between torr and mmHg?
Almost nothing — they differ by about one part in seven million. A torr is defined as exactly 1/760 of a standard atmosphere; a mmHg is defined from mercury density and standard gravity.
